During a recent appearance on the Soapie podcast, the longtime soap opera icon reflected on her years filming RHOBH and admitted she was stunned by how far some people were willing to go to stay relevant.
“The one thing I learned — I learned so many things about myself and so many things about human nature,” Eileen shared. “What people will do to be famous. It’s shocking.”
Eileen, who appeared on RHOBH from Seasons 5 through 7, explained that the experience was far more emotionally intense than she expected going in.
“I’m not cut out for it necessarily,” she admitted.
The actress said she often struggled with the culture surrounding reality television fame, especially when viral moments and public attention became priorities for cast members.
“It really matters a lot,” she said about fame and relevance in the reality TV world.
Even so, Eileen made it clear she doesn’t judge people who thrive in the Housewives universe.
“If it’s worked for you and it works for a lot of them and they’ve made amazing lives out of it, so how can you judge it?” she explained.
Her comments came while discussing whether she would ever return to RHOBH — and Eileen confirmed Bravo actually approached her about coming back recently.
“They asked me to come back for a few last year,” she revealed, before explaining why she ultimately passed.
“I just… the money and the whole thing wasn’t worth the emotional thing for me.”
Despite stepping away from Housewives years ago, Eileen remains one of the franchise’s most beloved former cast members, largely because viewers saw her as a grounded “voice of reason” amid the chaos.
The actress also acknowledged that while reality TV can create incredible opportunities, it came with a level of emotional stress she never fully anticipated.
“It was so terrifying all the time,” she previously said of filming the show. “But also fun and crazy.”
